Watersons, The. @ An English vocal band, both important and influential in the UK folk revival. They were originally called the Mariners, then the Folksons, before reverting to their family name. The basic group, with later variations, comprises of Mike Waterson (b. 16 Jan 1941), Norma Christine Waterson (b. 15 Aug 1939) and Lal Waterson (b. Elaine Waterson, 15 Feb 1943). Their cousin John Harrison, an original member, left in 1966, andthe group split up two years later. In 1972, the quartet was reformed, the fourth place was initially Bemie Vickers, who was then replaced by Martin Carthy. Matin married Norma the same year. The group have often been cited as being influential in the development of unaccompanied harmony singing. Frost And Fire was named Melody Maker folk album of the year on release. Sound, Sound Your Instruments Of]oy, was an album of traditional Victorian hymnals. In 1985, Mike's daughter, Rachel (b. 3 Apr 1966), joined the group. The Watersons have the ability to perform traditional songs, while retaining the freshness in the arrangement of the individual vocal lines. The various members of the group have recorded solo and other works, but the Watersons still perform occasionally at festivals.

Watson, Roger.  b. 6 Feb 1946, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. An original member of Muckram Wakes, also performed as a duo with Debbie McClatchy (american, banjo / vocals), and in the Robb Johnson Band. Watson then bcame director of TAPS (Traditional Arts Projects), in Berkshire.

Whiskey Before Breakfast.@ Five piece band from the Cambridge area playing traditional Irish music. Vocalist/fidlle/whistle Cathy Coombs, Gemma Tidy piccolo/flute, Nigel Savage bodhran/bongo/percusion, Martin Green accordian/mandola/piano and Kevin Duffy guitar/mandola.
