Rattlers, The. @  The Rattlers produce the own blend of high octane Celtic / Roots Rock. Their debut album "Pleasures in Misadventure" has been hailed by many in the Folk / Rock world as the best debut album in at least a decade. They will be starting work on a new album in February 1997. The band comprises of: Alan Woolley (vocals, acoustic guitars), John Adams (guitars, mandolin, back vocals), Sarah Mathews (violin, back vocals), Paul Grainger (bass guitar, vocals), Boz (drums, percussion). Folk / Rock has been a much maligned musical form which in recent years has seen a resurgence of interest, not only with the record buying / gig attending public but also suprisingly, the usually dismissive media. It is against this backdrop that The Rattlers have emerged as a forbidding force in this blossoming musical idiom. The Band have been active on the gig and festival scene, as well as turning out a storming debut, That is a melting pot of English and Irish traditional forms served up with kick ass rock'n'roll that would bring a smile to even the heaviest rocker, The Rattlers have surely carved themselves a stage on which to stand. bye
