MuckramWakes. @ Formed in 1970, Roger Watson (b. 6 February 1946, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire;concertina / tuba / melodeon), Helen Wainwright (b. 16 May 1951, Marchington, Staffordshire; harmonium / whistle / piano / bouzouki) and John Tams (fiddle, banjo, concerdna). Helen and Roger married in 1972. - Tams left in Oct 1973 to join the Albion Band. Then John Adams (fiddle, banjo, trombone), and Suzie Adams (drum, percussion), were added. This format lasted until 1980. 1978 saw Muckram Wakes collaborate with Bandoggs to form the short-lived 11-piece New Victory Band. In 1980 a major line-up change, resulting from personal and professional pressures, left John Adams, Keith Kendrick (concertina), Barry Coope (vocals) and Ian Carter. Not long after this Muckram Wakes disbanded.
