4 Yn Y Br. A nationalistic Welsh folk group formed in the early 1980's. From the late 80's ceased performing to concentrate on other projects. One of the easier Welsh groups for english speaking audiences to appreciate.
Aardvark and No Money.@ circa 1983. Fang (voc, guitar, ??), Max (violin, whistle, voc), Bryan (guitar, keyboard, bass), Tony Krelle (drums, percussion) , Carolyn (bass, voc, bodhran, guitar). Kevin Neaves replaced Tony. Bryan, Kevin and Carolyn are now part of Shave The Monkey. Guido of STM was also with AANM for a short while.
Aber-dau-jaber. Instumental music on Welsh bagpipe, harp,flute, violin, hurdy gurdy and bodhran.
Accrington Stanley.@ b. Mike Bray, 7 Aug 1951. Station master at Rochdale. Amusing songs (often with a message) though has also written some serious songs (The Last Train Has Gone).
After Hours. Contemporay folk group.
Alarm. Welsh rock band formed in 1981. Stong folk roots surfaced in later recordings.
Albion Band. @ Founded April 1972 by Ashley Hutchings to play updated English Country dance music, consisting of Ashley (base), Royston Wood (vocals), Sue Dranheim (fiddle), Steve Ashley (guitar) Simon Nicol - ex Fairport (guitar) and Dave Mattacks - ex Fairport (drums). This lasted around six months and the constantly reforming line up has been a characteristic since. Those who have been in/with the band include: Polly Bolton, Martin Carthy, Sue Harris, John Kirkpatrick, Roger Swallow, John Tams, Richard Thompson.
Allcock, Martin. @ b. 1957. One time member of the Bully Wee Band, and various Fairport Convention line-ups.
All About Eve. Rock band with folk influences. Originally labelled by the press as a Gothic band in th mould of Siouxsie and the Banshees, but this was far too narrow, their best known single 'Martha's Harbour' is a quieter accoustic piece. Tim Bricheno (guitars), Andy Cousins (bass), Mark Price (drums) and singer Julianne Regan. Julianne has sung with Fairport at Cropredy, despite a sore throat. The Band is now disbanded, they were always good, and at their best brilliant.

A celtic band, originally a four piece in 1991 Brian OhEadhra, Myles Farrel,
Steve Larkin & John Connolly. Then a three piece Brian , Myles and
Aimme Leonard, then reformed with Brian OhEadhra, Aimee Leonard (bodhran,
vocals) and Treasa Harkin (button accordian, whistle). In1997 Neil Davey
(bouzouki, mandolin) was added. ![]()

Artisan.
A three piece acapella group, comprising Hilary Spencer, Jacey Bedford
and Brian Bedford. Formed in 1984, and turned full time in 1989. Brian
writes much of their material, and has penned such classics as 'What's
The Use Of Wings', and 'Going Nowhere'. They are also capable of sensitive
interpretation of traditional and other folk songs.

b 1946 Singer, guitarist, songwriter. Helped found Maidstone Folk Club
with Peter Bellamy He has been in a host of
bands including The Tea Set, Tinderbox, Albion Country Band, Ragged Robin
and The Steve Ashley Band. This in addition to solo work and appearing
with others such as Shirley and Dolly Collins, Anne Briggs and Chris Leslie.
